Parts Assistant

Our impressive 27- berth marina has grown over the past 40 years and we continue to pride ourselves on the first-class service we provide to our berth holders, visitors and customers.
We're currently looking for a Parts Assistant to join us on a full-time, permanent basis and deliver a first-class service to customers.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with experience in parts or retail and knowledge of marine or automotive engineering to join a fantastic organisation.

What will I be doing?
As a Parts Assistant, you'll deliver a high quality service to customers in person, through telephone calls, email and online channels.
Supporting our appointed dealership brands, you will work with Volvo Penta, Suzuki Marine, Yanmar and Williams Jet Tenders, among other associated engine and outboard brands.
You will be responsible for accurate stock picking, our stock management system (Sage 200), dispatching the appropriate parts to customers and, above all, providing an exceptional customer experience.
What do I need?
To join us as a Parts Assistant, you'll need:
- Proven experience in parts or retail, preferably in the maritime or automotive industries
- Knowledge of marine or automotive engineering parts, accessories and equipment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A working knowledge of inventory management software and MS Office
- At a minimum, A-Levels (or equivalent)

Sales Assistant - Chandlery

At Darthaven, we are proud of our large onsite Chandlery. Set over two floors, it's stocked with everything imaginable to cover every adventurer's boating needs.
Now, we're looking for a Sales Assitant to join our Chandlery on a full-time basis and deliver a high-quality service to our customers. We are looking for the successful candidate to start as soon as possible.

What will I be doing?
As a Sales Assistant, you'll support the smooth running of our Chandlery and provide a high-quality service to customers.
Reporting to the Chandlery and Purchasing Manager, you will:
- Greet customers and answer any questions they may have
- Take payments and use the till
- Maintain an organised and attractive retail space
- Deal with telephone and email enquiries
- Handle product returns and payment refund requests
- Assist with stock replenishment
- Carry out stock takes on a rolling and annual basis
What do I need?
To join us as a Sales Assistant, you'll need:
- A friendly and positive attitude
- Good IT skills
- A keen eye for detail
- To be a strong communicator
- The ability to work well within a team setting
Previous retail experience or marine knowledge would be beneficial to your application.
We're eager to hear from you if you've worked as a Retail Assistant, Chandlery Assistant, Retail Advisor, Shop Assistant or Customer Service Advisor.
Our Chandlery is open seven days a week during the busy season. The role is based on a 40 hour week, working 08:30am - 5:00pm, including one day at the weekend. Some bank holiday working will be required.

Due to business expansion, we're currently looking for an Accounts Assistant to join us on a full-time basis in Kingswear.
We are also open to hearing from candidates looking for a part-time role working 30+ hours per week and will be happy to discuss your requirements at the interview stage.

What will I be doing?
As an Accounts Assistant, you will support our accounting function to provide timely information to management and help to ensure healthy finance and cash flow.
You'll be playing an active role across our financial activities, supporting the Finance Manager and providing additional administrative support as required.
Your role will involve:
- Bank transaction management including posting receipts and payments to ledgers and preparing bank reconciliations
- Sales Ledger Management including preparing sales invoices using sales processing, sending customer statements, chasing debt and handling customer queries by email, over the phone and in person
- Purchase Ledger management including matching purchase orders to invoices using purchase order processing, posting purchase invoices, supplier statement reconciliations, setting up supplier payments for approval, handling supplier queries by email, over the phone and in person
- General administrative duties, answering telephone calls, filing of invoices
What do I need?
To be considered as an Accounts Assitant, you will need:
- Experience gained within a formal accounts setting either in practice or industry in a role such as accounts assistant, ledger clerk, finance administrator or similar
- To possess an AAT qualification or be qualified by experience (QBE) with demonstrable equivalent skills
- To be highly organised, persistent and thorough
- To be able to describe yourself as a complete / finisher for any tasks you are set
- To be personable, well presented and an effective communicator
- A conscientious approach with exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
Please note, we are also eager to hear from those who have completed an accountancy apprenticeship and are looking to gain more experience in industry.
This is a full-time role working 37.7 hours per week. However, we will consider other working options such as part-time, working 30 or more hours per week. Simply mention your requirements as part of your application and we can discuss them during interviews.
